El diseñador freelance yanimador stop-motion Micael Reynaud crea GIFs animados diferentes a cualquiera que hayamos visto. Su proceso consiste en el uso de técnicas de video como hendidura de barrido, de lapso de tiempo, y varias formas de enmascarar para crear aquello a lo que él mismo se refiere como "películas muy cortas hipnóticas". De hecho muchas de estas animaciones provienen de vídeos realizados al completo que se pueden ver en su canal de Vimeo. El trabajo de Reynaud no ha pasado desapercibido en el mundo del arte, el GIF "paloma" (que podéis contemplar a continuación, en el extracto del artículo que Christopher Jobson le dedica en COLOSSAL) fue finalista en el primer concurso de Saatchi Gallery de fotografía en movimiento, y recientemente ganó el concurso de 2014 Art Giphoscope Internacional GIF.
